RIP Windows XP
Windows XP has now passed away and gone to OS heaven after a long and glorious reign. Born August 2001, dead April 2014. As technology goes, this is a very long life; all of 13 years.
For those of us still hanging on to Windows XP, we have to be more careful than ever especially when browsing the internet. Hackers around the world have been lying in wait for this day to unleash new holes in the now dead OS. And with Microsoft no longer releasing security patches, we will be easy prey for the attacking wolves.
The simplest of truths is that while XP was a stable operating system, its time for change. Windows, the final frontier. There are the voyages of Microsoft. It's ongoing mission to explore new technology, to seek out new and innovative ways, to boldly go where no OS has gone before.
Upgrade me Scottie!!
Star Trek aside; if you haven't upgraded already, now is the time. Upgrade to Windows 7 or if you can wait, upgrade to Windows 8 once Microsoft has finished with the changes (the return of the start menu).
